Leveraging social media

27Sep09

These sort of videos are quickly becoming a dime a dozen. The animation in this one may not be as impressive as some, but the facts are astounding.

So what do you think?

  • Would you pay for commercial-free prime-time television?
  • Would you make a purchase using your cell phone?
  • How many text messages do you send a month?
  • How can you use social media websites to leverage your presence, whether you are a journalist or a business?

I don’t watch TV but when I do, it is via Hulu or similar sights that have very short advertising. I think web sites like this have helped businesses to realize there IS a market for commercial-free TV. It’s only a matter of time.

I’d love to buy things via my cell phone, how convenient!

I don’t text message as much anymore (my phone has Gmail Chat and AIM, which I guess sorta counts)

Social media is obviously a great tool for connecting with audiences. It also seems to be personifying businesses more, but is that a good thing?
